ELYSIUM SESSION V PERSONAL NOTE FROM STEPHEN AQUARIUS I went to see ãThe Wedding Plannerä a few days ago and I never knew planning a wedding includes feeding the speech to the groom. Some of you might know that I am writing a script for a movie ãEverybody Wants To Be My Friend!ä. I like movies that have real life messages. Some of my favorite movies include the high profile character romantic comedyÊ ãPretty Womanä, the intelligently twisted romance ãThomas Crown Affairä and the futuristically suspenseful action thriller ãEntrapmentä. In the Wedding Planner, Jennifer Lopez did an awesome job playing her role in my opinion. It takes a true talent to show through her external expression that she doesnât care about the guy. However, she showed through emotional expression how much she really likes him. The movie was cute in a sense that there were a few good real life messages. Mary (Jennifer Lopez) asked Steve (Matthew McConaughey) why he only eats brown M&Ms and throws away the rest he replies ãbrown has the least artificial color since chocolate is already brown.ä My favorite message was when the father told Mary about his arranged marriage and how he fell in love with her mom. He said: ãI didnât meet your mom until the day of the wedding. We never liked each other. One day I fell sick and she really took care of me. I appreciated her more than anything. Appreciation grew to respect. Respect grew to like. Like grew to Love. And later I loved her more than anything in my life. So you might hate somebody today and love them later.ä But ladies, when you get married, make sure you choose a groom who doesnât need the speech to be fed to him. PERSONAL NOTE FROM STEPHEN AQUARIUS Some people donât like high profile events because they have to go through so many productions even before they get there. Some say the real excitement comes before the event. The buzz! The costume! The ride! Are you going drink alcohol, water, Gatorade, red bull or all combined? Then at the event, you all look at each other and say either ãthis is the best time of my lifeä, ãthe vibe is weirdä, ãthe first dj was betterä, ãthe music is too repetitiveä, ãwe need familiar musicä and, of course, there are people who always agree with anything you say. Those who donât get their fix, get mad. Some go home and some look for more places, and find reasons to push the envelope. Either you go home or not, you put your body through more misery. Although you started off the night right, you didnât end it the way you wanted to. All you wanted was two hours of good entertainment. WHY? You have asked me why you have the best time at my events? What is the secret? What does it take to create THE vibe? We will talk about my thought process next week. For now, I have to thank you for making me listen to you at the right moment regardless of how busy I am.
